Sawn Hardwood We stock a range of hardwood ready for your use. As it is sourced from local mills the timber is cut from a log that is from State Forest. The strength rating of this timber is what as known as F11 wet hardwood. Generally this timber will shrink untill it is dry, allow for 5mm shinkage for every 100mm in width. The timber is very strong, heavy, durable and is what home construction consisted of for framing of walls and roofs untill pine framing became popular because of its light weight. Our stock sizes are 200x50, 150x50, 100x50, 100x75, 75x50, 100x25 with any size available if you order thru us.
Structural Harwood Structural Hardwood is kiln dried to a specific moisture content and graded to F27 which is then able to be used in high load areas in home and commercial construction when high load and stress areas have been identified by a engineer. It can identified by a large stamp printed onto the timber stating the F27 rating. Please ring us to find out what sizes we currently stock.
